The Government of Karnataka vide Order No. KaE 572 TNR 2020, dated 18th January, 2021, has directed all employers in the organized and unorganized sectors to grant leave with wages to their employees/workmen for work missed during their quarantine period due to COVID-19 infection. The quarantine leave shall be extended to those employees/workmen who are confirmed primary contacts of the infected persons.

STATE GOVERNMENT ORDERS GRANTING LEAVE WITH WAGES DURING QUARANTINE PERIOD FOR WORKMEN
The Chief Secretary, Government of Karnataka in his capacity as Chairman, State Executive Committee, Karnataka Disaster Management Authority under Section 24(L) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 has
passed Order No. KaE 572 TNR 2020 dated 18.01.2021 as follows:
That all employers in the organised and unorganised sector are ordered to grant leave with wages for their employees / workmen if they were unable to work during their period of quarantine due to COVID-19
infection. Such grant of leave with wages shall also be extended to those employees / workmen who are confirmed primary contacts of the Covid infected persons and thereby unable to work during the period of
quarantine. This Order is deemed to be valid from the date of nation-wide lockdown viz. 24.03.2020 declared by the Government of India. A copy of the Order No. KaE 572 TNR 2020 dated 18.01.2021 is attached.
